Autumn 14 was originally written over a year ago, while sitting at home during a rainy night. The descending chords really hit home for what I was feeling at that moment so I found my emotions really bleeding into the song. It went through lots of different versions with attempts of getting vocals on it. I had the pleasure to work with some extremely talented vocalists but in the end I felt like singing something myself would mean more to me. I wrote the lyrics earlier this year about the sense of longing for something that was gone.
lyrics
Autumn was my favourite season
The rain, the leaves and the colours too
Until the night that you went out, it all changed
You passed away, my heart did too
Now this alcohol
Is a vice of mine
And it always lights my fuse
I’m a ticking bomb
Ticking down
And I’m counting down the hours
Waiting till December comes
